Carnival Graveyard – Part 1

Leggings: Victoria’s Secret, here; boots, Dolce Vita, old, similar here; blouse, J. Crew old, similar here; blazer, Willow & Clay, old, similar here; necklace, J. Crew old, similar here; watch, Nixon, here.

Somewhere along the long stretch of highway between Tucson and Phoenix, Suede and I had the good fortune of discovering a carnival ride graveyard. In the middle of nowhere with ceaseless wind and ‘Keep Out’ signs, it was straight out of a horror movie… And logically, perfect for capturing three ensembles based around knit leggings and short booties. Since our cool weather is fleeting, I love fitting in heavier weight fabrics as much as possible.

This first look is a workplace appropriate version of leggings and booties. A silk collared blouse and boyfriend-fit blazer elevate leggings to professional-wear. The blazer speaks business, while the clock pattern of the blouse adds whimsy — and my favorite thing about wearing this to work is its comfortability. I can go from the office, to client meetings, to evening events without feeling constricted.

Carnival Graveyard Part two will feature two off-duty legging/booties outfits that I absolutely love.
