While Suede and I prioritize eating healthfully and incorporating movement into our daily routine, we’re not as committed if there is no goal attached. However, since the engagement and future wedding to look forward to, I can’t think of  a better time to hunker down and get dedicated. We both plan to look our best — so no worries, I’m not forcing an absurd regimen on him.

Our first [tiny] vice to address: the sweet tooth — we both have it, we try to stop it, and both end up giving in to it. These protein bites are meant to curb the urge, while keeping us satiated.

I love everything about this recipe: few ingredients, no cooking or baking needed, portable, pop-able and so stinkin’ tasty!

Here’s how-to:

1/3 cup (heaping) almond butter – I used crunchy

1 1/2 tablespoons honey

1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I only had this on hand, but ideally use plain vanilla or chocolate)

3 tablespoons ground flaxseed

3 tablespoons  dark chocolate chips

Mix wet ingredients; add in protein powder and ground flaxseed. Add a little more almond butter or honey if it’s too dry. Lastly, work in the chocolate chips. Roll the ‘dough’ into 10 balls – refrigerate for 30 minutes or so and ENJOY!
